The quote goes mobile

Your phone can now quote a commit the way the web does. Send your words with the original's ID and the response brings back both.

You're on the train with your phone, and a commit in the timeline deserves an answer. You tap Quote, type your piece, and send. The new commit lands in the log with the original folded inside it (the other author's avatar, the body, the whole card), and you never opened a laptop.

Credit simonhamp, who gave the app's quote sheet the same machinery the web uses. The request carries the original commit's ID beside your body, and the server checks it is a commit you may see. It can be anyone's published commit, or your own, even while it is still pending. Deleted commits, someone else's pending or rejected ones, and anything across a block come back 422 with the web's line, "That commit is no longer available to quote." A 201 hands back the new commit with the quoted one attached, and an approved quote notifies the other author, as on the web. Bodies run 3 to 4,000 characters. Posting is capped at 10 a minute.

One catch is that a commit quotes or replies, never both. Send a parent along with the quote and the request bounces with a 422, and a quote always starts its own top-level commit, so you cannot tuck one into an existing thread.
