Mentions seat the thread first
Type an at sign in a reply and the person you're answering comes first, then the thread's starter, then everyone else in the conversation. Quote someone and their name jumps to the top.

You hit reply three levels deep, type an at sign, and the list that pops up isn't a random roster of people you follow anymore. The developer you're answering is at the top. Under them, whoever started the thread. Then the other people who have posted anywhere beneath it. Keep typing, and the names thin to matches without losing that order.
Credit goes to xHeaven, who taught the suggestion box to read the conversation. The list still tops out at six names, and the thread order is applied before that cutoff, so a matching participant beats a matching stranger. Every visible reply under the thread's root counts, nested ones included, and each person appears once even after five posts. Quotes stay leaner. Quoting a reply lifts that reply's author and nobody else from the thread it quotes.
One catch. Those six slots fill with the thread first, so once six visible people have posted, a bare at sign in a reply can show nothing but participants and push the people you follow off the list. Type a name and the list filters, but thread matches still sit above the rest.
