Features

Your inbox gets a face-lift

Replies, quotes and mentions now wear the sender's avatar on the rail, and a quote carries the commit it quotes underneath. The Follow button shrinks to a follow-back icon.

Open your notifications and the rail has changed. A reply now leads with the replier's face, a 40-pixel avatar in place of the 36-pixel type icon, followed by their name, handle and time, with "replied to your commit" underneath. Quotes do the same, and add the commit they quote in a grey box below. Mentions join them. Follows, stars and moderation keep their icons and stacked avatars.

Credit goes to simonhamp, who taught the inbox to tell a reply from a star. Quotes pull their target along with the page, but only when it is your own commit, trashed included, so a deleted one becomes the usual tombstone. The inbox still fetches 20 groups at a time, stacks three actors per group, and clips the quoted commit to 73 pixels.

One catch. A group of several new followers shows no follow-back icon on its summary row, because it would only ever act on the newest. Expand the group and every follower gets their own icon and tooltip.
