Post a picture, skip the caption
The commit box now lets a screenshot stand on its own. Attach an image, leave the text empty, and Commit lights up.

You drop a screenshot into the composer, leave the text box empty, and the Commit button wakes up anyway. Hit it and the picture posts by itself, no placeholder period, no "see below." Replies, quotes and commits you schedule for later behave the same way.
Credit xHeaven, who untied the text rule from the picture. Three images can ride along, and once one is attached the text can be nothing at all or anything up to 4,000 characters. Without an image the old floor still holds. That floor is at least 3 characters, with the same 4,000 ceiling. An image-only post saves as an empty body, so no database migration was needed.
The picture still goes through the moderation check. Only the text check sits out when there is no text. One catch. Image-only commits skip the embedding step, so they never land in semantic search. Describe the screenshot in the search box and the engine will not find it. Backfills skip them too, so they stay unfindable until someone adds words.
