Org pages get a monthly map
The sitemap now lists organization pages, filed by the month each page was made. Every entry carries the handle and an update date crawlers can follow.

You open the sitemap index and scroll past the profile months. Between them and the commit days sits a new run of organization months. Fetch /sitemaps/organizations-2026-10.xml, for example, and you get October's list. It holds every organization page made that month, one URL per handle, each with a last-updated stamp.
mnapoli built it. The site groups organization pages by the UTC month their page was created and writes one XML file per month. Each entry points at the organization's page and takes its date from whichever is later. The date is the last GitHub profile sync or the last approved commit that mentions the organization. Pending commits don't count. Ask for a month with no organizations, or 2026-13, and you get a 404, not an empty file. The index puts organization months between profile months and commit days, and the files cache publicly for an hour.
One catch. If another GitHub account takes an organization's handle, the site parks that profile under a temporary placeholder handle until its next sync. The organization sitemap skips every placeholder handle, so the page drops off the map until the sync brings a real handle back.
