Your quote lands without a reload

Quote a commit and the reply appears in the discussion the moment the server answers, no refresh needed. Collapse the thread, load five replies, post another. Your place holds.

You hit Quote under a commit, type your take, and press the button. The composer folds away and there is your quote, already sitting in the discussion underneath. No reload, no flicker, no scrolling back to find where you were. Collapse the thread first, post again, reopen it. Both quotes are there and the thread is still collapsed.

Credit goes to xHeaven, who taught the thread to listen to itself. When the server hands back a fresh first page, the thread swaps it in whole, drops any page request still in flight and keeps the expanded or collapsed state you left it in. Replies still arrive three at a time by default. Pick a bigger page from the tabs and you can pull twenty-five.

One catch. That instant swap only covers the first page. Load five replies at three per page and the thread re-fetches instead, two round trips before the new quote shows up, loading state and all. It keeps every reply you had loaded, but "immediately" now means right after the network answers.
