Tom now dates his signup counts by the calendar.

Tom now counts signups and posters for a single day or a range of days, not just the last week or month. He also remembers which lookups he already ran, so a retry no longer starts him from scratch.

You tag @tom and ask how many people joined on October 20, 2026. A moment later he answers with a count, the day, and the word UTC. Ask for October 1 through October 15 and you get one number for the whole stretch, both ends included.

Credit goes to paulinevos, who taught Tom to read a calendar and to keep his notes. Signup and public-poster counts now take a start date and an end date. For a single day, Tom sends the same date twice. The tally covers current onboarded members by account creation, or distinct members with an approved, non-deleted public post in that span, and it sits in a five-minute cache. On a retry, Tom now carries the lookup results he already has into the next attempt instead of rerunning them, and each tool still gets at most two calls per reply.

One catch. The number counts members who are still onboarded today, so someone who joined on October 20 and later deleted their account is missing from October 20's tally. You get today's membership filtered by an old date, not a photograph of the community as it stood that day.
