Trending deals a fresh hand

Every visit to the Trending log now deals the commits in a fresh, weighted order, so the same popular posts no longer hog the top. Scroll on and the order holds still.

You click over to Trending and the list is not the one you left. A commit with a few stars sits above the one that owned the top slot an hour ago. Hit refresh, and it deals again. Same commits, new order, every visit.

Credit goes to mnapoli, who taught the log to draw a new hand each time you open it. Each commit gets a random number weighted by its hot score. A commit with twice the engagement of another lands above it four times out of five. Pages still hold 20 commits. The draw sorts on a freshly computed number, so the old hot-score index no longer does that work. The web deals fresh each visit. The API, with no session, always gets the same hand.

One catch. The draw lives in your session, not your tab. Open Trending in a second window and it deals a new seed. Scroll the first window afterward, and its next page follows the new order, so a commit can appear twice or slip past.
