The app casts its first poll
Your phone can now start a poll with a commit. You give it two to four options and a length from an hour to a week. The post comes back with the poll attached, its clock waiting on approval.

You type "Tabs or spaces?" in the mobile app, add the two options, pick a day, and send. The commit comes back with the poll in the response. The options are in order, and there is no closing time yet, because the clock starts when a moderator approves the commit, not when you post.
Credit goes to simonhamp, who hooked the app's commit call into the poll code the web composer already uses. You get two to four options of up to 50 characters, no two matching even ignoring case, and one of four lengths. The lengths are 60, 1,440, 4,320, or 10,080 minutes, which are an hour, a day, three days, and a week. Emoji shortcodes get swapped. For example, take :tada:. It arrives as the emoji it names.
There is one catch. A poll travels alone. Attach a photo, reply to someone, or quote a commit and the API sends the request back as a 422, so polls are for top-level, text-and-links posts only.
