New commits now stay in their lane

Trending stops offering a new-commit banner. Latest and Following each count only what is new to them, and clicking the pill reloads that lane from the top.

You are parked on Trending when a friend commits. Nothing happens. No pill, no count, no bump at the top of the feed. Switch to Latest and there it is, "1 new commit." Click it and the page scrolls up and the feed starts over newest first, instead of dropping that commit onto a list ranked by hot score.

Credit goes to xHeaven, who taught each log to mind its own business. Latest counts every commit newer than the one at the top of your page. Following counts only commits from people you follow and from you, so a stranger's commit leaves its count alone. The page asks every 30 seconds, shows 20 commits a page, and Trending now answers with zero. A commit you post from Trending still pops to the top of it immediately.

One catch. Trending no longer polls at all, so sit there all afternoon and it will never mention that anything landed. Your own commit is the only thing that ever appears above the ranking, and only right after you post it. For news, you have to visit Latest.
