The log changes lanes under your thumb

On a phone, drag sideways across the feed and Following, Latest and Trending roll past in order. Pick a direction and the tabs slide that way.

You're on Following, phone in one hand, coffee in the other. Flick left across the feed and Latest slides in from the right. Flick again and Trending takes its place. Flick right and you're back on Latest, the tab underline moving with you.

Credit goes to xHeaven, who taught the feed to read your thumb. A swipe must travel 60 pixels and run at least twice as wide as it is tall, so a lazy diagonal scroll still scrolls. Lanes go Following, Latest, Trending and stop at both ends. Swipes starting within 24 pixels of the screen edge, inside a text field, over something that scrolls sideways, while pinch-zoomed, or with text selected get ignored.

One catch. Nothing follows your finger while you drag. The feed sits still until you lift, then the next lane slides in, so you can't peek at what's coming and change your mind halfway.
