Commit links now wear a name tag and a short hash
Paste a commit permalink into a post and it stops unspooling as a long URL. What you see is the mark, the author and seven characters of hash, ready to click.

You're halfway through a reply, you paste a commit permalink, and the wall of https never appears. Instead the post shows the // mark, the author and a short hash. The link reads // Hacksore/5149ca8, and clicking it slides you over to that commit inside the app rather than throwing open a new tab.
Credit goes to xHeaven, who taught the linkifier to spot a commit permalink. The rule is picky. It takes http or https, optional www, dev-null.sh, an @name of up to 39 characters, /commits/, then a 36-character hyphenated id with nothing after it. No query strings, no photo paths. The seven characters come from the same shortener that labels commit cards, toasts and the commit header, so the hash on the link matches the hash on the card. Uppercase ids get folded down, and the real URL stays tucked into the text, so copying the body still copies a working link and a screen reader announces "@Hacksore's commit 5149ca8".
One catch. The rule names dev-null.sh outright. Paste a commit permalink from a local install or any other host and you get the old shortened URL back, ellipsis and all.
