The whole composer rolls out a welcome mat

Drag a screenshot over your composer, reply box, or quote dialog and a dashed blue mat appears. It reads 'Drop images to attach.' Let go and the picture attaches, no matter which part of the box you aimed at.

You have a screenshot on the desktop and a commit half-written. You drag the file over the composer, past the avatar, across the toolbar, over the thumbnail row, and the whole box lights up with a dashed blue border reading 'Drop images to attach.' Let go anywhere inside it and the picture joins the others as a thumbnail.

Credit goes to the contributor who stretched the target from the one-line text area to the entire composer, every reply box, and the quote dialog. A counter ticks up as the pointer crosses each child element and back down as it leaves, so the mat holds steady instead of strobing. Drops then go through the same filter as the attach button. The filter accepts JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB each, three images at a time. Dragged text is left alone, so a line selected from another commit still lands in the text area.

There is one catch. The mat appears for any file drag, not just pictures. Haul a PDF or a zip across the composer and you still get the dashed invitation. The filter only runs when you let go, and the error underneath then tells you it wanted JPEG, PNG, or WebP under 10 MB.
