Timezones join the conversation

Set your zone once, then hover any commit or reply time. A tiny popover shows your clock beside the author's, so 8 PM finally means 8 PM.

You open your profile settings, type "Tokyo" into the new timezone box, and save. Back in the log, you hover a commit's "3h ago". A little card appears. Your time is on the left, the author's on the right, each stamped with the city and capped in that person's lane color.

Credit goes to xHeaven, who added the setting and the two-clock tooltip. The picker searches every zone in the tzdb list by zone name, city, country, abbreviation, and alternate name, and it can fill in the zone your browser reports. The tooltip draws at most two columns, shows the month and day in each zone, adds the year for posts from an earlier year, and skips the author's column on your own posts. Your choice also feeds the long date on a focused commit and your data export.

There is one catch. The search never looks at the GMT offset printed beside each row. Type "GMT+2" and you may get nothing back. You need to know a city, country, or zone name to find it.
